Who is going to start making 3d vr spanking movies first? The headsets are out there now and vr porn is freaking amazing. Good question, Chad. I doubt most spanking producers have a budget to get Virtual Reality equipment and start making VR spanking movies, but it is possible. I’d love to do it – it sounds amazing, but it will be a down the road thing for me at this time.

I think things are moving quite fast right now. The last year or two was a bit of a drag because the technology was just coming out for consumers and everything was buggy and expensive. But things seem to be getting momentum now. The gear vr was $100 and much of the kinks have been ironed out (overheating etc). There is a bunch of stuff coming out finally next month like the Vive headset. The Oculus Rift is coming out.
Samsung has a new camera for shooting 360 degree 3d called the “Gear 360” and there are several other new cameras now that are under $1000. I don’t know if these would be suitable for filming porn that’s comparable in quality to sites like Badoink or virtualporn360 but for 2 or 3 thousand you can buy the go pro rig. GoPro is also releasing a consumer camera soon from what I hear. Other then that I think it’s just a matter of figuring out the process but now the process is somewhat automated with video stitching software.
I know there are companies that brag about their cameras and processes but much of that is just for publicity. They’ll get a fancy video camera that costs as much as a house and shoot a 360 degree orgy with amazing resolution but it’s just to make headlines and appear cutting edge. Those videos aren’t even 3d and considered pretty pointless by the actual porn consumers. They’re just high resolution 360 degree 2d films shot for bragging rights.
I would be one happy customer just seeing a stereoscopic 180 degree vr spanking video shot with a $300 camera even if the resolution wasn’t all that great. It’s far better then watching 2d porn.
I’ve just been reading up on all this the last couple weeks trying to figure out where we are now. I’m certainly no expert but from what I’ve read it seems the only equipment that is needed is a video camera that shoots stereophonic (two lenses for each direction) with at least a 180 degree view, some software to stitch or adjust the video, and a pioneer spirit.
VUZE makes a 360 3D camera and I think they include the automated stitching software and everything.
Hopefully it won’t be years before spanking vr starts coming out. I’ll lose my mind if I have to wait that long! lol.
I think things are moving so fast that a lot of pornographers just can’t keep up to date with the vr news and don’t realize it may be affordable and practical right now rather then something to keep an eye on for the future.
